  • Artemide Yanzi SC1 Suspension Lamp

    1363

The activity of Neri&Hu is founded on constant research and the desire to work on the dynamic interaction of experience, detail, material, shape, and light, rather than adapt to stereotyped formulas. In a blend of tradition and innovation, Yanzi is a lightweight composition of graphic signs. Balanced structures, such as branches or perches, support multiple stylized figures to provide a variety of versions and qualities of light. They are iconic swallows with a brushed brass body, with their head like a white glass sphere enclosing light, either flying free or contained in glass cages. There is unique sensibility in matching warm and cold, essential yet refined materials. Yanzi is an open system, ideal for creating lightweight compositions and light landscapes that animate any space with an elegant poetic attitude.

  • Artemide Tatsuno-Otoshigo Suspension Lamp IN-EI

    1260

“IN-EI” – Japanese for “shadow, shadiness, nuance”. The art of lighting has a conceptual and technological heritage at the Miyake Design Studio, dating back to 2010, when Issey Miyake and his research and development team called Reality Lab., presented 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE.  This new process was developed using a mathematical program with 3-D geometric principals by Jun Mitani. 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE is an extremely ingenious way by which to make clothing, and a process that provides yet another example of directions the quest for innovative textiles technologies can take. The project comes from the intersection of creativity and mathematics, resulting in clothing that can be folded flat and become 3D shapes, starting from a single piece of cloth.  As the Reality Lab. explored 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE’s potential in areas beyond clothing, a natural extension of the process was lighting products. IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE was born from a collaboration with Artemide marrying their lighting expertise with the Lab.’s innovative approach to the material and design. The IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE lighting collection was co-developed and manufactured by Artemide. It is a collection of free-standing, table and hanging lights. Each lampshade is created using 2 or 3D mathematic principals, where light and shade harmoniously alternate. Miyake’s unique folding technology creates both statuesque forms as well as sufficient solidity. The structure of the recycled material, together with an additional surface treatment allows these shades to perfectly keep their shape without the need for internal frame, and to be re-shaped when needed. They can be easily stored flat when not in use.

  • Artemide Spectral Light Suspension Lamp

    7746

“The lamp is made of 12 light wavelengths emitted by 12 LEDs of different semiconductors corresponding to 12 wavelengths peaks perceived by the living species we have chosen: human, dog, cat and plants. To avoid any unnecessary risks to people with macular degeneration related to age, we don’t emit  short blue-violet wavelengths under a minimum of 470 nm, because the wavelengths between 415 nm and 455nm (and mainly at 430 nm) are dangerous to the retina of these people with AMD. Wavelengths which ultimately make up the lamp are therefore to humans 470 nm (blue), 534nm (green), 564nm (amber). For the dog 470 nm (blue) and 555nm (lime). For the cat 500nm (cyan) and 556 nm (green) and for plants 470nm (blue) and 662 nm (deep red). Then we group some of the 12 wavelengths between animal and plant species that are close. We then multiply the number of LEDs of some lengths proportionally to the spectral intensity of sunlight in order to replicate natural sunlight quality when all LEDs are on. A special «night»program  is proposed, keeping only the wavelengths above 550nm.   The convex shape of the upper part of the globe allows to direct the 12 wavelengths lights which are then transmitted by transparent glass rays towards the low opaline surface of the glass globe to converge their lights and colors to be mixed and homogenized to produce the white light spectrum of the sun’s natural light by addition and synthesis of colors.”

  • Artemide Scopas Suspension Lamp with Artemide APP Compatible

    3256

Created through the repetition of an elementary module, this suspension lamp consists of a sphere with an incomplete structure. Ever changing in its appearance, depending on the point it is viewed from, it radically breaks the mould of the pure and sometimes monotonous forms that normally characterise this kind of lamp. Like the Death Star of the Empire in Star Wars, immobile in space, its apparent incompleteness is contrasted with its technical efficiency.

  • Artemide Pipe LED Suspension Lamp

    1048

Flexible painted steel structure, covered with a natural anti-yellowing silicone case; ceiling rose and diffuser in transparent rubber-effect painted polycarbonate; mirror aluminium reflector with random perforations; painted steel bottom plate. The new internal diffuser is reinterpreting the old fluorescent lamp using a modern LED source, this guarantees the same optical performance with less power consumption and a better quality of light. Flexible and adjustable, Pipe has a micro-perforated reflector that improves the quality of the lighting in the environment, as well as it enriches the design of the luminaire, which looks like it is studded with points of light of varied dimensions.

  • Artemide Orsa Cluster 3 Suspension Lamp

    1156

Orsa is an embodiment of precision – an elegant pendant light pared down to its essential elements, allowing the light to express a larger volume. A slim metal stem flares out at one end to form the heat-sink and housing for the LED, with a UV bonded methacrylate cover containing the light source. The design of the methacrylate cover ensures that the light source remains invisible, giving it an appearance of a floating disk of light. The industrial design team at Foster + Partners experimented with various materials, surfaces and optics to achieve the desired lighting effect and volume. An elegant, minimalist object, Orsa is designed as a single piece or as a part of a larger ensemble.
